Jon Neale made deep runs in huge fields in both the Kick-Off and the Almighty Stack last November during the Fall Poker Open, and that’s after doing the same thing in September during the Borgata Poker Open.
He’s still looking for that breakthrough performance at Borgata, however. Since winning a DeepStacks Challenge event during the October 2015 series for more than $19,000, he’s been denied a podium finish.

Registration is closed for the Deeper Stack event with (unofficially) 324 entrants, beating last year’s field by a dozen.
Morgan Klein was here until about 2am last night, reaching the final table of Event 2, the Black Chip Bounty event. She finished 10th for $4,371 (not counting any bounties). That didn’t stop her from being back here in action less than 10 hours later in the Deeper Stack.
Back-to-back cashes could be in her future if she runs well here today.

Deeper Stack players are taking their second break of the day and when they return registration will close.
Late regging the event is Angel Modica, who is also celebrating a Birthday today! Perhaps some birthday run-good is coming his way. He’s had three runner-up finishes here at Borgata, so is overdue for a win.

Players are back from their break and the field continues to grow, with four more levels for late registration and re-entry.
Another frequent flier in the Deeper Stack field is Steve Nooralian. Steve’s been cashing in tournaments here at Borgata since 2010. He took home his first and only Borgata trophy in the 2016 Spring Poker Open $250+$30 Deeper Stack NLH event. The field of 868 runners (over three starting flights) churned out a prize pool of more than $210,000.
Steve was the last player remaining, taking 1st place and $48,423. Over the years, he’s amassed more than $351,000 in tournament cashes.

Deeper stack players have reached their first break of the day and are enjoying some time away from the felt. While they’re away, the staff are coloring up and removing the green 25 chips.
Among the players in action today, on a day dominated by NFL playoff games, is Zach McNees.
Zach won the 2015 Summer Poker Open Deepest Stack event, the finale of that series, beating a field of 396 entrants for $20,741. He’s made a few more final table appearances since then, but is still looking for his second trip to the winner’s circle. Still, he’s got something many players do not — a Borgata Open trophy at home.

Last year, it was about 2:30am when the final 12 Deeper Stack players came to an adjusted payout agreement. Bruce Ludwig took 1st place and $5,006 when all was said and done.
There were a total of 312 entrants in this event for a prize pool of more than double the $30,000 guarantee.

The second trophy event to get underway today in the Event Center is the Deeper Stack, which gives players even more chips with which to work. Everyone starts with 35,000 and the first 15 levels are 25 minutes long, then they go to 30 minutes for the duration of the event.
Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 9, which should fall about 2:50pm. As with the Seniors event, this is a one-day event and will play until a winner is determined.
Cards and chips are on the move in the Deeper Stack!
