Chip leader Hyon “Skip” Kim almost made a terrific laydown when he realized he was being trapped, but ultimately couldn’t let go of , reluctantly paying off
in a flop spot.
Michael goes from short to average stacked in one hand. Skip moves back to 420,000.
Meanwhile on two, more flop action yields a new big stack. On the , Sasha leads, gets a call and then Yuriy Kuorynskyy raises. Sasha gets out of the way, but the original caller now goes for it all with
, doubling Yuriy to 410,000 in a tough exit.
We’re bagging soon.

Since the last update, Skip, on table 4, has drained a few more chips from his opponents and has 425,000.
Michnik, left, can’t make a miraculous fold this time, paying off the aces. He’s in the danger zone now.

Hyon, aka Skip, holding 385,000, has now pulled ahead of long time front runner Sasha, now at 300,000.

From Nirath’s view in the two seat, a very tough spot for Michnik, left. Harding, all in, feels no pressure and is laughing. Nirath wants the call.
Mike Michnik found himself in a very strange spot after getting involved from the BB with . After Rean Nirath checked the flop from the SB, Michnik found a pretty natural lead for 9000 on
, only to be jammed on by the PFR Ken Harding for another 25,000 more.
Fair, but then Rean now jammed as well, and for a lot more, maybe 110,000. Puzzled by the interest in a dangerous board, and essentially covered, Mike laid it down.
Nirath showed while
was Harding. A narrow but excellent escape on a blank runout. Harding is out, and Rean moves to a healthy 190,000.
Great decision by Mike Michnik.

In a field that normally likes to fight, Ryan Mostafa gets a blind min-raise open through. His table shortly disappears, as well.

Hyon “Skip” Kim, now closing on Sasha, has been making the pros’ chips disappear while pleading innocence. Note little smile.
“I’m your bread and butter, your bread and butter,” Hyon repeats.
Meanwhile, Sasha Sabbaghian’s fast rise has slowed. He’s still ahead with 320,000 but the other stacks are catching up.
