Istvan Szabo opens, then Goodman ships his dust on table one. He picks up two more players, and can’t make win, as Bumble picks up the 40,000 with
.
Meanwhile, on three, Joe LeClaire finds himself with little choice but to go with queens against a shove and reshove, but he’s against the dreaded aces.
No problem: he makes queens full on the turn, chips up, and brings us two away.
Then, Ted Steiner. a dealer at the Sands, shoves nines and Bumble defends with tens. Again, no problem, the answering nine is in the window and he fades a gutter and two more outs for a needed double to about ten bigs.
However, the bubble can’t be dodged forever: it’s local legend Bob Brady who takes the fall as our 19th place finisher, losing the seminal tournament flip, against
from Schuman.
We now gather to the final two tables and the clock is paused.

Peter Sennon has snuck up the ladder, mostly unnoticed.
“I’m in disguise,” he joked.
The experienced tournament player has over 250,000, most of it courteous of the two-pair versus set hand. The anonymous player who led the field ran bad and busted shortly after, and now Sennon’s main competition at table one is a tough cookie, Jim Boyd.

The seniors never like to give up on their tournament lives easily, and it’s been slow going in attempting to reach the final 18. We’re going to see another break first.

Dry flop check raise from Boyd will get a cranky fold from Bumble, right foreground. Boyd claims a weak top pair in a fairly classic tournament play.

However, Boyd pays off Sennon for three streets with worse full house on another dry board. “Max Value,” cries the satsified Sennon. Big hit for the chip leader.
We return at 7:50 PM.

Jim Boyd and James Moore tangle on 4. The flopped nuts can’t get more than a street of action from the BB, though, and Moore escapes Jim’s rungood.

Change of fortune on one. A limped pot allows the former big stack to get coolered by Peter Sennon’s set.
The biggest development of the past level is the anonymous big stack on 1, who got himself into a bind against a flopped set, paying off Sennon the max. Suddenly peter has 200,000 and the big stack has less than 100,000.

While Mr. Theissguyy’s stack of 170,000 seems to see few fluctuations, Jim Boyd on table 4 has been on a tear.
He just turned over , getting paid a sweet 25,000 on the river for his flush by TPTK.
With this victory, Jim, a former Senior’s champ here at the Borgata and something of a poker legend overall, cruises ahead of our anonymous leader on one, as well as Theissguyy, with 275,000.

In a four way pot, an extreme short stack shoved his last chips into one time chip leader Louis DeSorbo and TJ Shulman.
DeSorbo seemed to want to call light on , especially given price, but didn’t like the action with the unpredictable Shulman behind.
DeSorbo sagely released and Shulman didn’t waste any time getting in the call.
“What am I up against,” he inquired, indicating he knew he was beat.
His opponent flipped up and that was fine with Shulman. Open ended with yet another small connector, the
, all he wanted was not to see a set which could ruin his equity.
The board paired another on the turn, but Shulman drilled the
on the river for a wheel against queens up. His opponent rose. “That’s how I run,” he grumbled.
Out.
In the next hand, an open limp caught TJ’s eye. “I’m not falling for that again!” he said humorously, perhaps indicating a prior limp raise from his opponent. He completed from the small, and James Moore in the big simply checked his option.
On , the action checked around. Since the open limper would bet an overpair for protection, it seemed safe for TJ to lead the turn, and that the limp had been an honest one.
To Shulman’s suprise, both players called his 3,000 lead on the , and Shulman was openly less than thrilled.
“Make it black!” he cried to the dealer, who did not deliver, dropping a . Shulman checked, James in the big led for 5,000, and everyone gave up.
“That’s what I get for checking two pair on the flop,” commented TJ. True or not, it’s possible with Shulman’s wide range, and the one card flush made any further action hard.
Then, key action. The UTG player min raised, and Reynaldo Ong in Seat one put in nice small 3 bet to 5,000. Shulman, always ambitious, overcalled with the button, the blinds surrendered, and UTG flatted.
On , the opener checked and the 3 bettor overbet shoved, transparently representing the overpair. Shulman had nothing to gamble with this time and folded, but the UTG min raiser had binked. He now check called the shove, flipping over
for top two.
THe board did not run out clean, however, as the deuce paired on the end, giving Ong and his Kings a better two pair.
Once again from the exiting player – “that’s how I run.”
Ong moves up to 65,000. Moore has 50,000. DeSorbo has taken a hit to 60,000, and Shulman has about the same.
