Last year’s Bounty event drew 749 entrants for a prize pool topping $250,000. Thanks to an Adjusted Payout agreement among the final three players, after a very long Day 2, there was a bit of confusion over who the “winner” was. Officially, Stephen Gerber took the most money, $40,100, and 1st place, getting credit for the “win”. Jake Stubing was named 2nd-place finisher and collected $37,101.
Wade Meacham took $37,100, but also got the trophy, which is what he really cared about. Officially, however, he finished 3rd.

The Event Center is busy with Day 2 of the Kickoff event, but as that field shrinks approaching the money, the second trophy event of the series is firing up.
The Black Chip Bounty Deep Stack NLH event is one of the best values on the Winter Poker Open Schedule. Players get 25,000 chips to start and levels are 45 minutes long throughout. In addition, there is a $200,000 Guarantee on total buy-ins, which has been doubled since last year.
Players have a $100 bounty on their heads and the player who takes their last tournament chip also gets their Black Chip. Bounty tournaments are a big favorite around here and just what the doctor ordered for those who are no longer in contention in Event 1.
Late registration and re-entry are available until the start of level 9 (about 8:45pm, after dinner break). This is a 2-day event, so play will continue until 2am or 18 players. Day 2 is on tap for 12 noon Saturday.
