Shortly after play resumed, we had back-to-back bust-outs!

Camine Ciccone

Carmine Ciccone shipped it with A2 and was up against Guo Cheng’s AK.  The board came K 9 4 8 K and Guo took the pot.  Carmine finished in 11th place, earning $11,512.

On the other table, Stephen Dellibovi was all-in with AQ against Aris Konstantinidis’ pocket 7s.  The board of K J 8 2 5 missed Stephen and sent his chips to Aris.

Stephen finished in 10th place, earning $11,512.

Jerry Burnette

On the last hand before break, Jerry Burnette got all-in for 16,400 against Daryl Black in the big blind.  Jerry’s would need to improve for him to survive since Daryl had him covered.

The board came and Jerry was saved on the river.  Pairing his Ten earned him a double-up to about 33 million (after being down to only 10 big blinds in the previous level).  Daryl was left with ~12 million.

Chris Leong

Stephen Dellibovi shoved up front and got a call from Aris Konstantinidis in the small blind.  Stephen’s AT off was dominating Aris’ A7 off.  The board ran out J T 5 J 4 and Stephen doubled up to ~18 million.  Aris was left with about 22 million.

On the other table, Chris Leong got his last chips in holding pocket 8s against Guo Cheng’s AQ.  The board fell Q 5 2 T 9 and Guo took the pot.  He’s up to about 33 million.

WPT Champions Club member Chris Leong busted out in 13th place, earning $7,771.

Ronald Kampert open-shoved for 11.6 million from the cutoff and Paul Lambrakis called all-in for a bit more than 10 million from the small blind.  Ronald’s was racing against Paul’s pocket 9s.  The board came 3 3 3 J 5 and Ronald took the pot.  He’s up to more than 22 million.

Regoberto Villaluna

Karl Held got all-in for 11.4 million against Aris Konstantinidis.  Karl’s AK was dominating Aris’ AT and the board of 6 2 2 5 7 missed them both Karl doubled up to ~24 million and Aris’ stack dropped to about 34 million.

A short while later, Regoberto Villaluna got all-in with A6 against Aris’ KQ.  The board of K 2 2 4 5  shipped the pot to Aris.

Regoberto finished in 14th place, earning $7,771.

Jerry Burnette

Jerry Burnette opened for 1.9 million, got a flat from Guo Cheng, then Ricky Lee jammed for 4.6 million from the big blind.  Jerry gave it some thought, then announced “all in”.  Guo said “Thank God! I would not know what to do!” as he quickly folded his hand.  (Later said it was pocket 7s.)

Ricky gave it some thought, then called all-in.  His was racing against Jerry’s .  The board came and Ricky paired his Ace to double up to ~12.5 million.

Then on the next hand, Jerry shoved under-the-gun for 16.5 million.  Guo Cheng (cutoff) immediately moved in for 10.7 million and everyone else got out of the pot.  Jerry’s was dominated by Guo’s .  The board fell and Guo’s kicker played.  He doubled up to about 23 million.  Jerry was left with a bit under 6 million.

Never fear, however, Jerry picked up a double-up soon after to get back in the game.
