We are in the final level of the day.
On table 2, the five seat Stan Lee appears to be an extremely aggressive player, opening at a high frequency.
We caught him at the end of a hand, where he showed down {kc} {2d} from the small blind, claiming a medium pot with top pair no kicker.
Now on the button, Stanley opened to 11,500, picking up Jessie Slyvia in the big.
On {3d} {3s} {8d}, the action is check/check.
Sylvia then choses to lead the {7c}, and Lee comes along.
On the river, Sylvia fires 31,000. Apparently the river six of hearts doesn’t work at all for Stanley and he more or less instantly folds.
From the cutoff, the active Stanley again makes an action, and it’s Justin Liberto’s blind who is the target. However, we can tell from Liberto’s demeanor a raise is coming – and after all, Lee is playing a lot of hands.
The three is to 34,000, and Lee calls. The flop is {ah} {ad} {6d}.
Liberto bets 12,500. It’s a hard bet to combat, even if it’s unlikely Liberto has trips. He likely has more aces than Lee, and seeing the writing on the wall, he releases.
“Couldn’t let you find a four on the turn,” Liberto remarks.
A wide, wide, grin spreads over Lee’s face – clearly something nice happened earlier when Liberto did not protect his holding with a bet.
“I regret that check,” the defending champ added.
Liberto has 150,000, Lee 265,000.

Table 2 could arguably be the toughest table in the Six Max. The lineup consists of Jesse Sylvia, Justin Liberto, Mike Dentale and Stanley Lee. This isn’t stopping Dentale and Liberto from having some fun table talk as both players approach the 200,000 chip mark.

The players are now on a 15 minute break and Rob Elias (pictured) is leading the way. He is now playing just over 700,000 with just 28 players remaining. He was just moved to the left of the other big stack John Karlin who has 650,000. There could be potential for a monster pot in the near future should these big stacks decide to clash.

On the button Ken Barkoff opened to 3x, which got the attention of Daniel Park in the big.
He stared at the bet and then delivered a very slow and smooth raise to 28,000.
It’s a legitimately tough spot for Barkoff, as the pot size, should he call, will be nearly half his stack total. Yet from the button he is likely at his widest.
Barkoff chooses to flat the bet and a deadly flop comes up favoring a raiser {ah} {kd} {8h}.
It’s an easy cbet, and given the board and the stack size, Park’s bet is a beautiful 17,000. Barkoff can only fold.
While Barkoff sighs and looks away and the dealer arranges the pot, Park now flashes the {3s}, laying it quietly for all to see.
Moments later, someone asks if it was the {as}. Now Barkoff is interested.
“What did you show?”
Park confirms – “The Ace of spades.”
Tricky game being played here.
In the next hand, we see a different side of Park’s games where he completes the small blind facing the big blind. The action is checked down, possibly as he realized his hand has showdown value, and will perhaps have trouble representing the ace high board, and indeed, {qx} {9x} is good for Park.
The next hand also features the small limp into the big, but this time a flop lead takes it.
Finally, it’s Barkoff’s turn to take a flop from the BB – but this time the button has raised it, and he must fold on the ace high board.
It’s a tough table to beat with all this careful play, and soon Barkoff is out, with a cash at least, for his troubles.

On table two we followed a series of pots centering on seat 4, Kainalu McCue-Unciano.
In the first, a raised pot, Johannsy Joseph bet flop then shoved turn on {6d} {js} {jd} {tc}. The overbet got a fold from Kainalu.
Immediately following, Kainalu opened and was three bet by Aleksei Vandyshev, and folded.
A few hands later, McCue-Unciano had a perhaps better position, the button. He opened and was three-bet again by Aleksei Vandyshev, who was in turn met by a fourbet by the big blind, Mike Del Vecchio.
After soon thought, Vandyshev pulled the trigger and five-bet shipped the rest. Del Vecchio had already made his plan to the hand and snapped off the bet for his remaining stack.
It was a cooler situation, with Vandyshev holding {ax} {kx}, and Del Vecchio a dominated {ax} {qx}.
The dealer spread the board, which ran out clean for Aleksei – until the river, the {qc}.
Aleksei winced. Del Vecchio had doubled to over 380,000.
After some choice words in his native tongue, Vandyshev spread his remaining chips across the felt in front of him.
Frustration.

Event 14 is now in the money and the field is down to just 35 players here on Day 1. We see a familiar face still in the hunt making a run at another Borgata Winter Open Six Max title.
Justin Liberto is no stranger to this very event as he won his first BPO title here in the November Poker Open $1,100 Six Max NLH Event. He was able to best a field of 138 players and a stacked final table that included BorgataPoker pros Vinny Pahuja and Michael Gagliano earning over $40,000 for the victory.
Liberto is playing a stack of about 130,000 as he looks for a second BPO trophy to put next to his WSOP bracelet.

Hand for hand play is just underway when he hear one of the dealers announce “all in and a call.” As we rush to the table we see Chino Rheem all in for his last 125,000 on a flop of {jh}{qh}{4s}.
Mike Commiso had made the call covering Rheem and the hands were shown. Rheem turned over {ks}{kh} but Cossimo had flopped a set with his {4h}{4d}. “I apologize in advance” Rheem says as the dealer burns and turns the {9s}.
Rheem picks up gutshot straight draw on the turn to go along with his overpair but the {7c} river seals his fate. Rheem is eliminated on the bubble in 37th place and the final 36 players are now all in the money guaranteed at least $1,605.

All but two players were late coming back from break to Steve Dannenmann’s table, but that didn’t keep him from having a good time, and a little at his opponent’s expense.
While rattling off a stream of half nonsense and reflecting on the importance of Elvis’ important biographical dates in correlation to his life, Dannemann won a series of small pots against Mike Del Vecchio.
In the last one, Dannemann put out an aggravatingly small bet on the river, ensuring that he picked up a blind at Del Vecchio’s expense.
A forced smile seemed entrenched on Del Vecchio’s face.
Meanwhile, Dannenmann’s fusillade of words continued while the returning players got settled.
“I can only win with opponents,” Del Vecchio told them.
“I’m not an opponent? What am I, a bus driver?” Dannenmann asked.
