Event 9
Event 9 – ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’
Level 15 (3,000/6,000)
Total Entries: 130
Remaining Players: 5
Average Stack: 390,000
James Chen has continued his steamroll of this final table, as he just sent another player to the rail after scoring the first double knockout towards the end of Level 14. He’s continue to run well in to Level 15 and we are now five-handed as Terry Feusner was just eliminated in 6th place.
Chen opened to 15,000 from under the gun and after the table folded, Feusner called in the big blind. He then moved all-in for a less than pot-sized bet on the {Ac}{8c}{7s} flop, with Chen snap calling to try to score the knockout.
He was in a good position to do so, as he held {As}{Qc}{7h}{4s} to Feusner’s {Ad}{Qd}{6h}{4c}. The short stack needed running cards to stay alive and he couldn’t find them, as the turn and river bricked out and confirmed his elimination.
He’ll make just under $1,900 for his Event 9 run and, as we said, we are now five-handed with James Chen holding close to 700,000.
Event 9 – ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’
Level 14 (2,500/5,000)
Total Entries: 130
Remaining Players: 6
Average Stack: 325,000

William McMahon (Cedar Grove, NJ)
Moe Bacharach started this final table restart as the shortest stack remaining in Event 9 but after a triple up and double up, he’s now playing close to 125,000 chips.
Not only has he more than quadrupled his stack through the first half hour of Day 2, he’s also made two pay jumps, as James Chen just scored a double knockout to bring us to the final six.
Action was picked up with Bacharach opening to 10,000 and next to act, William McMahon called off a short stack. Chen called on the button and Ryan Wuebbels three-bet to 35,000 from the small blind. Bacharach called and McMahon went all-in for less, with Chen coming along as well.

Ryan Wuebbels (Carle Place, NY)
Wuebbels shoved the {Qc}{9c}{4h} flop, a move that forced Bacharach to fold and brought a call from Chen, who was drawing to a club flush.
He held {Kc}{4s}{2c}{2s} and Wuebbels needed his {Ks}{Kh}{3c}{2h} to hold, while McMahon was in third place with {10d}{10s}{8d}{6h}.
The {4c} gave Chen the flush on the turn but Wuebbels still had some full house outs, outs his missed as the {Qh} completed the board and confirmed the double elimination.
Wuebbels will make $1,513 for 7th place, while McMahon will take home $1,135 for 8th, while Chen is now playing just shy of 750,000 and is working a sizable final table chip lead.

Two more ‘tiny glass Borgata’ trophies are up for grabs, as Event 8 and Event 9 will play down to winners today.
The first hour of Day 1A of the ‘Borgata Million’ is behind us and we’re now looking ahead to the two Day 2 starts that are about to start. Both Event 8 and Event 9 are coming back already in the money and will be looking to crown champions at some point over the next few hours.
Event 8 ‘Super Stack Elevator’ is coming back with 18 players remaining and that event won’t be picked up in it’s entirety until the final table. Event 9 ‘PLO High’ is coming back already at a final table, meaning that the WPO will pick up that event from the start.
Both restart previews are posted within the following links, Event 8 and Event 9, with payout information and seating assignments posted there.
Event 9 – ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’
Level 14 (2,500/5,000)
Total Entries: 130
Remaining Players: 8
Average Stack: 244,000
While Event 8 will come back with two tables remaining, Event 9 ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’ will come back with just eight players remaining. They’ll also play down to a champion and when play resumes at 12 PM, James Chen looks like he’ll be in a good position to take home this WPO title.
There are some solid players behind him on the leaderboard though, including Tim Dalessandro, who had multiple deep and final table runs in BPO events in 2015 and Thomas Balla. Balla won three BPO titles last year and he’s now at the final table looking to claim his fifth overall title but his first new title, or as some pros are calling it, the “tiny glass Borgata“.
He’s got his work cut out for him to not only claim that title but defend his 2015 win in this event, as he’ll come back below the chip average but in a swingy game like PLO, anything can and will happen. A complete list of that final table lineup is provided below and the WPO blog will pick up that event when cards get back in the air at 12 PM.
- Ryan Wuebbels – 110,500
- Terry Feaster – 96,000
- Moshe Bacharach – 33,000
- James Chen – 625,000
- Khaled Alwan – 372,500
- Tim Dalessandro – 537,500
- William McMahon – 43,000
- Thomas Balla – 127,000
A list of the remaining Event 9 payouts are also listed below:
- $11,349
- $6,242
- $3,594
- $3,026
- $2,270
- $1,892
- $1,513
- $1,135
While the $1,000,000 GTD ‘Borgata Million’ technically starts today, it won’t be the focal point of the Winter Poker Open blog until tomorrow. That’s because there are two WPO trophies up for grabs this afternoon, with Event 8 ‘Super Stack Elevator’ coming back with two tables remaining and Event 9 ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’ returning with just eight remaining.
Both of those restarts will take place at 12 PM, an hour after Day 1A of the $1,000,000 GTD Event 10 begins. The WPO blog will be bringing you all of that final table action, while keeping an eye on the opening starting flight of this sure to be massive mid-week event. All the information you’ll need for those restarts will be posted shortly, as the WPO blog team readies itself for another championship crowning day in the Event Center.

A full list of players with official chip counts will be posted when available. A redraw will take place before Day 2 begins at 12 noon Tuesday, and the seating assignments will be posted in the blog and in the Event Center.
That will do it for Day 7 of Borgata Winter Poker Open action, but we’ll have a whole lot more cardslinging in just a few short hours. See you then!
