While Event 8 and Event 9 won’t be crowning champions today, as they’ll be bagging up their chips around 3 AM, the Event 7 ‘Omaha/Stud H/L’ final table will return with nine players remaining. That small field means that a champion will be crowned today and with the high blinds and antes, it could be sooner, rather than later.
Those players bagged up last night but the final table redraw wasn’t made official until tomorrow morning, so, at last, here are where they’ll be sitting to start today’s restart.

The first week of the Winter Poker Open is already suddenly behind us and even though the weekend numbers were slightly lower than usual, thanks to a snow storm that covered the East Coast, the first week was massive in every way. It opened with the 5,100 player $2,000,000 GTD Event 1 and those sizable fields should continue into this week.
The always huge ‘Borgata Million’ starts tomorrow and while today will be slightly slower than the next few days of starting flights, there is another WPO trophy up for grabs and two events playing their Day 1 sessions today. The first will start at 11 AM, as the ‘Super Stack Elevator’ returns for another series. The Event 7 ‘Omaha/Stud H/L’ comes back with a final table of nine at 12 PM and they will play down to a champion today.
Event 9 ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’ starts at 4 PM and both that and the ‘Super Stack Elevator’ will be playing until around 3 AM, with trophies being awarded sometime tomorrow. A complete preview of each of those events will be posted before they begin and a recap of the first week of the WPO series will be posted this morning.

With 11 players remaining at the end of level 16, players agreed to keep playing to the final table, which is also the money.
Limits increased and in the first five minutes, two players were felts, so now it’s time for the bag & tag! One of the unfortunate late departures was Derek Updegraff. He went deep in Event 1 of this series, finishing 86th for $4,008.
The final 9 players are all in the money! They will return at 12 noon Monday to resume play.
Chip counts will be posted shortly.
Event 7 – Omaha/8 & Stud/8 mix
Level 16: Limits 6,000/12,000
Total Entries: 70
Players Remaining: 11
Average Stack: 95,000
At the end of level 15, the remaining 16 players opted to play one more level before bagging for the night. In the first fifteen minutes, five players were sent to the rail.
Rajesh Desai has done his part to narrow the field. On back-to-back hands he made quads, busting two players. Then as I watched he flopped a set and made a low to bust another player who had the top two pair and no low.
He’s got more than 200,000 and is the chip leader.
Adi Prasetyo has also done his part, making a straight to send another one packing.
Only 11 players remain as they move into the final 20 minutes of the night. With 9 getting paid, they might reach the money tonight.
Event 7 – Omaha/8 & Stud/8 mix

Total Entries: 70
Players Remaining: 40
Average Stack: 24,000
The field in the Omaha/Stud-8 tournament is one that is not dominated by players with major tournaments scores. However, there are two players at the same table who have both found their fair share of past tournament success and are looking to parlay that wealth of experience to run deep in Event 7.

Aditya (Adi) Prasetyo (Cambridge, MA) had an immensely successful 2015 that saw him earn his largest career cash when he final tabled the ‘Colossus’ at the World Series of Poker for a $140,956 score. Prasetyo followed up that performance by cashing in the Omaha/Stud-8 event at the WSOP less than a week later. Prasetyo has found past success at the Borgata, but has yet to take home his first title and will be looking to do so in this event.

Chris Reslock (Atlantic City, NJ) is a player easily recognizable to those who frequent the Borgata cash game tables as Reslock has been a regular for years. Reslock also plays tournaments when they are offered at the Borgata and has seen his fair share of success. He last won a title in 2012 when he took down the HORSE event at the Winter Poker Open. Reslock is on the hunt for another title today and will be a player to keep an eye on as the tournament progresses.

Amidst the live stream final table for Event 1, the Seniors event and the “Big Stack” tournament all currently in play, Event 7 will be kicking off shortly at the far end of the tournament area. This event offers those who are looking for a taste of “mixed” game action to fire away.
