Cathy Dever wins $41,979 and the super-heavy, super-cool Tiny Borgata trophy. This is Cathy’s third final table at the Borgata Winter Poker Open. She may be the only player to make three final tables in this series. (Asher Conniff and a few other players have two.) This is also Cathy’s third tournament win, including two at Borgata series, putting her over $343,000 in total winnings.
Cathy tells us that she’s been a professional poker player for about 3.5 years, and it’s gone pretty well so far. “Last year was difficult,” says Cathy, “but this year I’m starting off on fire!”
Next up for Cathy is a vacation in Vegas with her sister, where she plans to play at the Venetian. Then on to Parx and the WSOP circuit, and, of course, the Borgata Spring Poker Open. Also, she plans to play a bunch of WSOP events this summer. Cathy is a formidable player indeed, and we’ll be seeing her in a lot more final tables in the very near future. Congratulations to Cathy on the big win!
That does it for Borgata Winter Poker Open coverage for Wednesday, but in just a couple of hours, Day 4 of the WPT Championship event will restart, along with another exciting Deep Stack event. See you then!

Cathy Dever raises to 800,000 and Ken Munroe ships all in. Cathy calls immediately with {10s}{10h}. Ken has two overs: {Ac}{Jc}.
The board starts out favorable for Ken, with the {Ah}{2s}{9s}{3d}, but the river is again unkind to the short stacks, as Cathy spikes her out on the river — {10d} — to send Ken out in fourth place. He’ll earn $12,504 for his finish.

Dey By is all in preflop for 1,140,000 and VIP Nguyen calls.
Dey: {Kc}{Kh}
VIP: “I have one overcard.” He turns over {Ac}{9d}
The board starts out clean for Dey: {2c}{7h}{Qh}. The turn is a little worrisome — the {9c} — and the river is the backbreaking {9h} for runner-runner trips. Dey is out in sixth place for $8,305.
