Event 10
Event 10 – ‘Borgata Million’
Level 1 (50/100)
Total Day 1B Entries: TBD
The opening flight of the $1,000,000 GTD ‘Borgata Million’ drew 403 players and while they move into Level 11, Day 1B of that same event is starting up in the back of the Event Center. We imagine that this flight will be slightly smaller than today’s 11 AM session but either way, the WPO blog will be providing coverage through the later levels.
This event will follow a very similar structure to Event 1, as players will start with 25,000 in tournament chips and play 30 minutes levels through all Day 1 sessions. Each starting flight will play 16 levels, with players bagging and tagging their chips for Friday’s Day 2 session if they are able to survive.
It should be noted that this event is a best stack forward event, meaning that players may bag chips and then play multiple starting flights. They’d then only take their best bag into Day 2.
As it stands, the WPO blog team is keeping it’s immediate focus on both Event 8 and Event 9, as each are at the final table. Once those events conclude, the attention will shift towards Event 10 but until then, the pertinent information for this flight is provided with updates starting shortly.
Event 10 – ‘Borgata Million’
Level 2 (75/150)
Total Day 1A Entries: 233
With six starting flights for this $1,000,000 GTD event, we are bound to see nearly 3,000 players converge on the Event Center over the next few days. So far, just over 225 have elected to get an early start on this ‘Borgata Million’ event, hoping that one bullet leads towards the bag, with one player hoping to get back to this exact live streamed final table.

Frank Panetta is the player looking to get back to the ‘Borgata Million’ final table, after finishing 8th in the 2015 BPO $1,000,000 GTD event. He notched a $20,000 score for that run but that was a far cry from Pancetta’s best career finish. That came in 2008, when he won a WSOPC event for over $75,000 and he’ll hope to regain that form this week, as he goes for another deep ‘Borgata Million’ run.

THE Cullen Hofmann bubbled last night’s Event 8 ‘Super Stack Elevator’ for “max pain” and he’s trying to avoid that fate in the opening Event 10 starting flight. One bullet and bag would allow Hofmann, who is also a WSOPC ring winner, to get some off days and hopefully make up for the pain endured last night.
Event 10 – ‘Borgata Million’
Level 1 (50/100)
Total Day 1A Entries: 170
The feature event of the first week of the Winter Poker Open was the $2,000,000 GTD opening event and because of that event’s extended structure, we more or less go right into the ‘Borgata Million’ this week. That $1,000,000 GTD event will again see six starting flights take place over the next three days and will culminate with another live streamed final table on Saturday.
As mentioned earlier today, this Day 1A flight will likely take a backseat to today’s two restarts, with the WPO blog picking up the action as soon as Event 8 and Event 9 crown champions.
While the $1,000,000 GTD ‘Borgata Million’ technically starts today, it won’t be the focal point of the Winter Poker Open blog until tomorrow. That’s because there are two WPO trophies up for grabs this afternoon, with Event 8 ‘Super Stack Elevator’ coming back with two tables remaining and Event 9 ‘Pot Limit Omaha High’ returning with just eight remaining.
Both of those restarts will take place at 12 PM, an hour after Day 1A of the $1,000,000 GTD Event 10 begins. The WPO blog will be bringing you all of that final table action, while keeping an eye on the opening starting flight of this sure to be massive mid-week event. All the information you’ll need for those restarts will be posted shortly, as the WPO blog team readies itself for another championship crowning day in the Event Center.
