David Eilers owns a BBQ restaurant back home in North Carolina, but likes to get up here to Borgata to play tournaments whenever he can. Back in 2013, David took down the $450 Black Chip Bounty NLH event during the Summer Poker Open, earning $27,091.
He followed that five-figure score up with another during last summer’s Open series. He made the final table of the 2015 Summer Poker Open Championship event, finishing 8th for $32,155.

As Kenny Levine related to Will in the earlier video, and again to me in person, he’s starting the Will OC fan club as a reaction to our own Will OC cashing in his first tournament the other week. His T-Shirt features Will himself. That video interview was conducted during the the E flight. It didn’t go so well.
“Nah. I ran kings into ace-queen,” says Ken. Ouch. “Right?!” he says. Kenny is after his last shot in this event as Flight F begins its second level of 16 tonight.

Nicholas “Nicky P” Palma is on his second hand of entries into this event. I’m sure he’d prefer to run this one back rather than enter again this evening.

The fifth and final flight of Event 1 is starting with the tournament director, Tab, giving the rules and instructing the dealers to shuffle up and deal. This is the final opportunity for Event 1 participants to qualify for tomorrow’s Day 2, and we should see many players firing their sixth (or more) bullet as well as players entering the event for the first time. The whole house is packed with players for this, the largest flight of the event. Let’s go!
Tab Duchateau announced that the start of Flight F, which was scheduled for 7pm, will be delayed. There are already more than 720 players registered for that fight which means all 90 tables in the Event Center will be needed.
Flight E is about 15 minutes from conclusion and they will have to color-up, inventory, and bag their chips before their tables can be cleared for the next flight.
Current estimate for start of Flight F is 7:20pm.
Four down, two to go, as the final two starting flights of the $2,000,000 GTD opening Winter Poker Open event are set to begin early this morning. The first of those flights, Day 1E, begins at 10 AM and the final flight will begin at 7 PM and with over 2,200 players coming together over the last two days, we imagine the Event Center, again, will be at full capacity.
Of those 2,200 players, just under 400 have already advanced to tomorrow’s Day 2 session and with another 2,000 or so players needed to hit the guarantee on this event, we imagine that those numbers will more or less double before tomorrow’s 12 PM restart.
A complete list of the surviving Day 1C and 1D players from yesterday’s two starting flights will be posted shortly, once cards get in the air.
