Joey Weissman lost his chip lead for a short while after doubling up Shannon Shorr but shortly regained it and is now up to 2,800,000 with Shorr and Joe Palma being the casualties.
Weissman raised to 100,000 on the button and called the three-bet jam of 860,000 of Shorr, who shoved from the big blind. The three remaining players talked briefly about a deal but then decided against it and played on. Weissman shoved out of the small blind to put Palma at risk for his last 775,000. Palma called with K♠Q♣ and would have to dodge against Weissman’s live 10♣9♣.
The K♥9♠5♥ flop held the status quo and the Q♥ turn left Weissman needing a jack or nine to eliminate “The Worm.” It’s hard to kill a worm, but Weissman did on the J♣ river.
