Iverson Cotton “Heisenberg” Snuffer (Milton, WV)
With a name like Iverson Cotton Snuffer, would this gregarious gentleman need a nickname? In fact, he likes to go by “Heisenberg,” complete with the hat worn by the Breaking Bad antihero. Heisenberg owns a pool and outdoor leisure company in West Virginia, and is understandably busy during the summer months, to the tune of 90 hours per week. But the rest of the year, he’s free to travel around and play poker with some of the greats — and he’s even beaten them on occasion.
Heisenberg won a Big Stack event here two years ago for his largest finish to date, and also boasts wins and final tables at the Ohio Poker Championship, the WSOP National Championship and the Heartland Poker Tour. He tells us that he’s made stacked final tables against some of the best players in the world, and research shows that like his real name, just about everything else he says is true. He even wrote a book long ago about how to cheat at cards, though he says he gave that up ages ago.
Heisenberg has more than $357,000 in tournament winnings, and we covered him just last night because he final tabled the Deeper Stack event. He’s still in the mix in this, the Deepest Stack event, but he’ll have to outlast dozens more players to make back-to-back final tables. If anyone can do it, it’s Heisenberg, because science.
