Event 6 – ‘Big Stack NLH’
End of Event
Entrants: 427

Duane Hunton finishes in first place in the $260 + $40 Big Stack No-Limit Hold’em event, earning $27,518 and the heavy glass Borgata trophy.
He tells us that he used to play poker seriously many years ago, but got married and had kids. The death of his son at 11 months old spurred him toward poker again as an escape from grief. He’s become a competitive player again after five years away. Poker as therapy is working for him.
The other interesting thing is that he cashed in Event #3 last night, and was a little late coming down for the start of Event #6, having been blinded off from his starting stack down to 17,500 in chips. He managed to parlay that stack into over three million in tournament chips and $27,518 in prize money. This nearly doubles the $33,220 he’s earned in past events.
Duane tells us he plays cash games in Maryland with most of the others at the final table, and he feels proud that so many from his home venue were able to do well here at Borgata.
That will do it for action during Day 6 of the Borgata Winter Poker Open. Be sure and come back Monday morning for more events!
