Vinny Pahuja bagged the Day 1C chip lead, finishing the flight with 372,000 setting himself up well for tomorrow’s Day 2 session.
We’ve reached the end of the flight here in Day 1C of the $2,000,000 GTD Event 1 and there are some familiar faces towards the top of the leader board and while there is a Pahuja sitting atop those standings, it might not be the one that you expected.
Mukul Pahuja bagged an impressive 249,500 chip stack to put himself among the leaders, but his older brother Vinny was the top bagger in this flight, finishing the day with 372,000.
Vinny, who has yet to be mentioned on the blog so far this series, quietly built a stack up throughout the day and we aren’t surprised to see him near the top of the leader board, as he has close to $1,800,000 in career lifetime earnings, boasting an impressive tournament resume that has just under 125 total live rated career cashes.
Vinny is a former Borgata Poker champion that will certainly be entering into Day 2 of this massive event with a top ten chip stack.
Trailing Vinny are Mike Kong (301,000), Ido Ashkenazi (287,500), Cathy Dever (264,000), Pfizor Jordan (259,000), Ryan Jones (249,500), Mukul and Ray Ross (245,000) who was sitting with just over 50,000 entering Level 16 and managed to ride a nice heater to take himself towards the top of the leader board ending Day 1C.
We are still waiting on confirmation from the tournament staff as to how many players bagged up chips from this starting flight, as there were still a handful of tables in the Poker Room, who’s bags need to be collected before we can provide an “official” number.
A full list of players bagging in this starting flight will be posted, along with the other surviving players, tomorrow morning before Day 2 begins at 12 PM.
